The Tap & Tonic Speakeasy Bar Grantham, said to be Grantham and Lincolnshire’s first and only award winning Speakeasy & cocktail bar, is a venue unique to the area. In true Speakeasy bar style it is secretly located behind The Trickling Tap in an old Victorian outbuilding.
The bar is themed around the 1920-1930’s with a key focus on the Prohibition Era. At The Tap & Tonic you can enjoy a vast range of quality themed cocktails made by our Mixologists, in a relaxing candle lit, table service environment.
A Speakeasy bar was an establishment illegally selling bootlegged alcohol during the Prohibition Era. A time when the sale of alcohol was banned from 1920-1933 in the USA. They usually opened behind shops or in basements to avoid being found by the authorities.
That is why the location of our very own Speakeasy bar is perfect, being hidden away behind our retail store The Trickling Tap in an old, abandoned outbuilding. The venue has its very own alleyway passage, which tells a story of the Prohibition Era. As you continue towards the bar, you walk down a covered passage which is themed and has seating & an outside Prosecco & Mojito Bar during the summer.
We tend to play a mixture of classical & contemporary music with a focus on Jazz, Blues, Swing & Electro Swing.
